Graduate Pathway Reflection
From this Graduate Pathway Program, I learned many things regarding to the growth of my educational coursework in my discipline, Electrical Engineering. Aside of the major courses from ECE Department, ECE 521 and ECE 528, I also took PROV 504 and EAP 508 as the English courses of the Pathway Program.
In PROV 504, I learned every basic knowledge that is needed in studying Electrical Engineering in Master’s program, especially in George Mason University. Professor Melissa S. Ferro, the professor in PROV 504 class, introduced the plagiarism, and taught how to avoid it. Plagiarism is the most serious case in George Mason University. I was also taught by her of how to use Library Resource Center in completing Research Resource List assignment of my discipline, Electrical Engineering: Control and Robotics, and also how to present the Disciplinary Research Network Visualization with a great attitude and perfect ways of deliver the contents.
In EAP 508 class, I learned how to integrate all the English components: listening, reading, writing, and speaking into one academic knowledge of English. I learned how to summarize and criticize other authors’ articles by completing the GCLP assignments. I was also taught how to do research of my current topic by completing the Annotated Bibliography assignments, using the bibliographies related to my current topic, namely “The Approaches in Developing Biologically-Inspired Robots.” At the end of the semester, I presented a presentation in Multidisciplinary Colloquium Project which I am providing the proofs of my research project to be delivered for every faculty members in George Mason University, especially in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
In conclusion, I have grown in academic ways and professional ways by finishing all the coursework in Electrical Engineering Graduate Pathway Program. I am fully prepared to continue pursuing my Master’s degree of Science in Electrical Engineering, collaboratively with Volgenau School of Engineering, specifically in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. My future goals are to become an expert in Control and Robotics systems, and work with a company that focuses in developing Robots, including Robot Manipulators and Biologically-Inspired Robots. My biggest dream is to work with Sony Company. I have always dreamt to make people live the future with better and more advanced technology. The skills I have earned in this first semester of my graduate school could help in doing my research well and further the research of technology in Electrical Engineering, especially in Control and Robotics.
